It was my first day back at work today…it was kinda hard to walk down the back hallway to my office knowing Darren and Cathy would both not be there…wasn’t easy to see Cathy’s office being used as a storage place and Darren’s office empty…it was good though to see so many of my friends and receive and give hugs…life brings changes that we don’t necessarily like, but the only thing I can control is my response to those changes…

I spent time with Cathy this afternoon and she is such a special person in my life. She is in the midst of learning so much in her life, both experiencially and intellectually. She is working on her research and writing of her paper on the influence of Suzanne Wesley on her son John Wesley…she purchased a book with all of Suzanne Wesley’s letters to her son John Wesley and then got copies of his letters of reply to her…it was so awesome to listen to her excitement as she talked about what she was learning…I have learned so much from her especially in appreciating the arts and creativity…but also in watching her grow and deepen in her spiritual walk with Christ…she is very special and I will miss her smiling face at the end of the hall…..

Jerry’s birthday was yesterday…he received so many phone calls wishing him “Happy Birthday” we couldn’t keep up with them all…he is an awesome guy so I wasn’t surprised at all the calls!
