We finally had a chance to do some yard work today.  Beautiful cool day so Jerry’s allergies were not acting up and we started into our perennial gardens.  I get disappointed every spring as I see the perennials that did not make it through the winter, even with a deep snow cover.  Not sure what I am doing wrong.  The only flower that  always survives are my Shasta Daisies and they spread all over the whole garden.  This year I am mostly planting geraniums and marigolds, as Niki and Griffin are not too fond of those flowers, so with our grandpuppies being here all summer, we won’t concentrate on the grass, but hopefully our containers and gardens will bloom red and yellow all summer.  Beautiful rain showers this afternoon which made us realize that our eavestroughs were full of leaves and needed to be cleaned…always something to do!
